Award Type Grant
Purpose To provide financial support to individual visual artists and craftspeople in the Piscataqua Region to promote their artistic growth.
Focus Crafts; Visual arts.
Qualifications Applicants must be over 18 years of age at the time of application; must be visual artists; collaborating visual artists and craftspeople are also eligible; eligible art disciplines includes Crafts, which includes work in clay, leather, plastic, fiber, metal, wood, glass, paper and mixed media; 2-Dimensional work, which includes drawing, painting, works on paper, printmaking, book arts, collage, assemblage, mixed media; 3-Dimensional work, which includes sculpture, installation art; experimental visual arts, which includes conceptual, new media; photography; must have been permanent residents within New Hampshire Charitable Foundation's Piscataqua Region for at least two full years prior to applying and must plan to maintain permanent residence in the region during the entire grant period; applicant must have been a permanent resident in the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Piscataqua Region for at least two full years prior to applying.
Criteria Selection will be based on the following criteria's as the artists' body of work, as evidenced by work samples, shows high artistic quality and a strong artistic vision; the artists' body of work and resume demonstrate perseverance and a commitment to their artistic career; the artists' proposed advancement plan is clear and well-reasoned and is likely to make a significant impact on the artists' work and future direction; the proposed amount and use of funds supports the advancement plan and will make a significant impact on the artists' development and that impact will be sustained beyond the grant period.

To Apply Applicants must go to www.nhcf.slideroom.com to create an account and must submit the following: resume/CV; must list their accomplishments and endeavors that have been most important to them and to their work; a timeline of applicants' artistic development; an advancement plan, maximum of two pages, describing how this grant would advance their artistic growth in the short term and the long term; must include the direction they plan to pursue and/or any activities they intend to undertake during the grant period; budget describing specifically how the applicants plan to use the grant funds and discuss how the use of the grant funds are related to their advancement plan; five digital images of work samples and additional five images to show details of 3-D work.
